I might be wrong but from what I can tell most companies want at least a 4 year degree. It is pretty hard for those of us with bachelors and master's degree's to get in so I bet for you it would prove to be difficult.

I have been laid off for a total of 5 of the past 9 1/2 months after a steady 19 years in the workforce. I am taking classes but have a very long way to go. You must have a four year degree for any pharma manufacturer or CSO. I would equate exceptions to cracks in the system that eventually are discovered, esp. if up for a promotion. I'm not saying that those without a bachelors are incapable, it has just become a necessary requirement. I recently had a friend get laid off from an HR position with a company she has worked with for 10 years. She was awesome at her job, but she had to start work right out of H.S., and now can't get hired b/c she's lacking a college degree. It's unfortunate the rules have changed for her, however, she is now getting her degree she missed out on. It is certainly unusual, but nothing is impossible. I think the degree requirement is just a screening tool in a competitive marketplace. Having a degree shows a certain level of learning ability & application, as well as showing that you can stick to a program over the long haul. Needing a degree is not always about WHAT you learned at college, rather that you CAN learn. Try to think of other ways you have shown these attributes.
That being said, I agree with the above poster, you are much more likely to have success with a smaller comapny rather than big pharma, simply because it is much more likely that someone will read your resume rather than toss it out based ona checklist without exceptions. Please understad though, it's not arrogance on the part of theperson doing the initial screening... they have '000s of applications for each and every position and they have to have a way to sort thru to the most likely applicants. In doing so, the baby is often thrown away with the bathwater. Do something that makes it clear that this baby is way too good to overlook.
Oh, and once you're in, enrol in that degree. It may take a long time, but you can see from the posts above that even having experience may not be enough to save you next time.
