   I've noticed people have been asking questions about what to put in a brag book and what to do with it.
   
   
   
   Strictly my opinion on what works best......
   
   
   
   Don't just take the brag book and hand it to the DM.  Chances are they will not look at it.
   
   
   
   Use it as a tool....or visual aid for questions asked.
   
   
   
   If the DM asks you your GPA in college...have a copy of that available.  Take it out of the brag book and tell the DM what it is (as long as it's a good GPA, of course)
   
   
   
   If they ask you what one of your co-worker might think of you...a letter of recommendation from a previous employer is always something nice to pull out.  You can tell the DM and then back-up what you say with the letter.
   
   
   
   If you have taken multiple continuing education classes and received certificates for attending ...by all means add them.
   
   It's shows that you are teachable and like to learn.
   
   
   
   If you belong to any organizations like a school Alumni association or anything like that and received  letters for your participation, put it in.  
   
   
   
   It looks like you like to be involved and shows team spirit!
   
   If you don't belong to any professional association...JOIN!
   
   Volunteer to be President, VP, secretary etc........
   
   
   
   Are you involved in any community activities....Hwy beautifications or environmental issues?  SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY is a big thing today and many companies take an active role with this.
   
   
   
   Back up everything you have to say with something from your brag book.  It makes you look organized, logical and able to get your point across.  And then have a copy for them!
   
   
   
   Trust me....when you dazzle them with all of this information...they will want a copy to refer back on!
   
   
   
   This is tid bit number 1.  I will add more things as time goes on.
   
   
   
   Please don't take this as being a Mr. know-it-all.  I have been trying to break into this field for nearly 2 years and have had dozens of interviews.  I may not be an expert yet on pharmaceuticals but I can say I'm darn near an expert on interviewing!

   Great suggestions.  I also would add a "Reason to Hire" page.  This could include your strengths or list what they post as ideal candidate traits.  For example, • Organization:  I feel this is the key ingredient to a successful territory manager.  My ability to prioritize and outline my activities is the key to my success.  I am very neat and systematic and this is essential when working independently.
   
   Also add a 30/60/90 day action plan.  Most managers make you do this for them anyway to show how you will attack your territory in the next 30,60,90 days.  Tailor it towards the pharm industry.  I've gotten many great comments on this sheet.  Add any sales numbers and sales rankings from past employers.  This proves your achievments and this is what they want to see.  Add Reference sheet driving record.  Most co's provide company car and will need to see this at some point.  It just shows initiative.

   As a medical and pharmaceutical sales recruiter, for 13 years, I have always prepped the candidates on furnidhing a Brag Book. I do believe it is best to hand the DM the Brag Book, because it gives the DM something tangible to walk away with. A resume can be tucked away. A beautifully presented Brag Book is not packed into a file of resumes; it stands out. The Brag Book sjould have cover page customized for the company and DM. Inside the Brag Book, there should be the following:
   
   Resume, References, Performace Reviews, Ranking Reports, Testimonial Letters, Sale Seminar Certficates, Copies of Plaques, and pictures of trophies! On the first interview, you want to "wow" the DM, but you don;t want to give him/her all of your ammunition at once. On the second intewrvioew, you can do Sample Research Sheets.
