Different interviewers ask this question for different reasons. For the most part though, it’s a way for the interviewer to see if you can think on your feet. Does the question throw you? Can you formulate a “rational” answer in a short amount of time. If you’re prepared for the question, it’s just another arrow in your quiver.

Consider the traits you want to portray during the interview. Make a list of three and think of an animal that has them (or some similar trait). Do your best to use an animal that you actually like. This will allow you to portray the animal in a positive light.
