What Are Your Goals?

The rules of this question are simple.

  1. Explain why you think goals are important
  2. Be specific
  3. Discuss goals that match your values with those of the company
  4. List 3 Personal
  5. List 3 Professional

I’m glad you asked. I make it a point to define and write down my goals – professional and personal – on a quarterly basis. I’m a very competitive person so often times my goals reflect that competitiveness. I also happen to believe that goals that are unable to be measured are worthless. My current personal goals are

  1. To run a marathon
  2. To volunteer 10 hours per week
  3. To read one book per week

and my current professional goals are

  1. Improve my sales ranking from Top 10%

    to Top 5%

  2. Share one “best practice” per week using the my company’s knowledge management system
  3. Become the “product knowledge expert” for my district
