What do you know about XYZ company?
More blatantly, this question could be stated, “Are you sure you really want to work for us?”
This is truly another question you can dominate with a little preparation beforehand. During the entire interview process, you should be doing things every day to learn more about the pharmaceutical industry. By default, you will learn things about the different companies in the business.
I recommend you keep a folder on every company with which you come in contact. If you research while everyone else is sleeping, read, document, and save every piece of research you do. When you get this question, you can pull out your folder, drop it on the interviewer’s desk with a “thud” and verbalize the high-level points of your reserach.
- A quick history of the company
- Historical blockbuster drugs and events
- Recent industry issues and how the company is impacted by them
- Current products highlights
- Products in the pipeline and the excitement surrounding them
- Company mission, values, vision
