What salary are you seeking?

Often the most dreaded interview questions, those regarding salary require a tightrope walk. If handled correctly, they will highlight your skills of articulation and negotiation. As a rule, you should try to keep from naming a specifc amount as long as possible.

If the interviewer presses for an amount, try to respond by giving a range. Most entry-level pharmaceutical sales positions start between $40k and $50k.

Based on the research I’ve done regarding the pharmaceutical industry and ABC Pharma, I’m confident that any offer made will be a fair one. I also believe that given my competitive spirit, work ethic, and determination to succeed, your company’s bonus structure will serve my family well.

I can tell why it’s the most dreaded question! Good answer.
